Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Fast, very tolerable, 100% body’s own plasma

Hair is one of the key determinators of our appearance. Although genetics has a prominent influence on its strength and allocation, there is a way to naturally activate the hair growth processes.

One of the most effective ways is to use personalised cell therapy, which is based on the application of patient’s own body cells.

For hair treatment the Platelet Rich blood Plasma (PRP), is often used, as it contains growth factors responsible for healing and regeneration processes.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a product derived from patient’s own blood that has shown high efficacy in stimulation of the body’s own healing and regeneration processes. The procedure is not only showing results in enhancing the natural skin appearance but is also a safe and well tolerated treatment.

A small quantity of the patients own blood is collected and then treated in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich-plasma from the red blood cells. We use the Croma Arthrex ACP system. The plasma is then injected in a grid pattern into the scalp. Treatment takes around 30 minutes.

A course of treatment involves 3 sessions of PRP with one set of injections each month, over a 3 month period. Ongoing maintenance treatment every six months is recommended.

A PRP injection is a low-risk procedure and does not usually cause major side effects. The procedure involves a blood draw, so you should make sure you are hydrated and have eaten beforehand to prevent feeling lightheaded.
