What types of hair loss does PRP work on?
Results have been seen in patients with hair loss from menopause, androgenetic alopecia, male and female pattern hair loss, frontal hair loss aids in post natal hair growth.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A small quantity of the patients own blood is collected and then treated in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich-plasma from the red blood cells. We use the Croma Arthrex ACP system. The plasma is then injected in a grid pattern into the scalp. Treatment takes around 30 minutes.
A course of treatment involves 3 sessions of PRP with one set of injections each month, over a 3 month period. Ongoing maintenance treatment every six months is recommended.
A PRP injection is a low-risk procedure and does not usually cause major side effects. The procedure involves a blood draw, so you should make sure you are hydrated and have eaten beforehand to prevent feeling lightheaded.
We have a high clinical standard, duty of care and all procedures follow strict assessment from The Care Quality Commision (CQC) which we are registered with.
No hair washing for 12 hours post treatment.
Avoid saunas, stream room, swimming and sunbeds for 48 hours after treatment.
Avoid alcohol vigorous exercise and sun and heat exposure for 48 hours after treatment.
Minimise taking any anti – inflammatories after treatment.
Normal to experience bruising, redness, itching and swelling and soreness following your procedure.
